How FTF Live works, from first tap to first call
A walkthrough of the whole thing: what happens when you tap start, how matching picks someone, what the call screen gives you, and what happens to it all afterwards.
liveStep 1 — the door: one tap, no account
The only gate is age: confirm you are 18 or older. After that, tap start. No email, no password, no profile, no card.
You also pick how the first minute goes — video, voice or text. Starting on voice and turning the camera on a minute later is completely normal here, and it is often the better opening if you are new.
Step 2 — the match: who you get, and why
The pool is people who are broadcasting right now. That is the whole trick behind the six-second connect: nobody has to be invited, woken up or persuaded to reply.
Matching is random by design — you can also open the live grid and pick a specific person who is on camera. Either way it is a private room for two, never a group.

Step 3 — the call: what is on the screen
Her video fills the screen, yours sits in the corner. Along the bottom: camera toggle, mute, gift, and the skip button. Along the top: the call timer and report/block.
If you do not share a language, live translation runs underneath the conversation. Type or speak, and it converts as you go — which is why calls between, say, Mexico and Turkey work at all.
Step 4 — afterwards: what is kept
Nothing from the video is recorded, stored or replayable. When either side leaves, the room is gone.
Because there is no account, there is also no history following you around: no profile page, no "people you might know", no email list. If you come back tomorrow, you come back as a stranger — which is the point.
What it costs to run through all four steps
Steps 1 to 4 are free. Matching, connecting, talking and skipping cost nothing and need no card.
Credits exist only for optional extras like gifts and VIP features. If you never buy any, the app still works exactly as described above.
Getting a better first call
Three things reliably change how these go, and none of them are about looks:
- Light your face, not your ceiling — a window or a lamp in front of you beats anything behind you
- Open with a question, not "hi" — "what time is it where you are?" works absurdly well
- Give it thirty seconds before you skip — most calls need one exchange to warm up
